JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — With a full agenda, the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee approved various new and expanded projects at one of their six yearly certificate of need meetings on Wednesday.
Among the new projects approved were an 84-bed assisted living facility in Farmington and an 68-bed ALF in Lee’s Summit. A skilled nursing facility in Farmington was conditionally approved.
The assisted living facility in Farmington, to be called Cedarhurst of Farmington Assisted Living & Memory Care, is estimated to cost $10,694,000.
“I want to offer my support for the project…because of the need for more senior housing options, and especially because of the need for housing and service options for people who suffer from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease,” Larry Forsythe, the Mayor of Farmington, wrote in a letter of support for the facility. “There are very few memory care options in Farmington. This causes difficult situations for families.”
Lee’s Summit Senior Community, projected to cost $13,930,751, would offer a “continuum of care through all stage of the aging process with modern technology to promote wellness and longevity,” according to letters of support from Rep. Gary Cross and Sen. Mike Cierpiot.
The committee also approved several expansions to existing facilities including Carnegie Village Rehabilitation & Health Care Center adding 18 SNF beds, Cedarhurst of St. Charles Assisted Living & Memory Care adding 41 ALF beds, The Sheridan at Laumeier Park in Sunset Hills adding 10 ALF beds, Lake Parke Senior Living in Camdenton adding 24 residential care facility beds, Rock Island Village in Eldon adding 10 ALF beds, and Harold and Louise ALF in Hannibal to expand by 51 beds.
Northridge Place-Assisted Living by Americare in Lebanon was given approval for a $4,309,833.00 renovation and modernize.
