ALEC 45th annual meeting August 8-10 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside

Keynote Speakers Include: Secretary Elaine L. Chao, Secretary Alex Azar, and Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards

ARLINGTON, Va. — A record-setting number of state legislators, business leaders, policy experts and citizen activists will meet in New Orleans August 8th-10th for the 45th American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) Annual Meeting. Attendees will have the opportunity to share ideas and experiences and create research-based model policies focused on limited government, free markets and federalism.

During the conference, the American City County Exchange (ACCE) will also host its fifth Annual Meeting, which will bring together local elected officials and private sector members to develop public policy that promotes accountability, transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness. ALEC members represent more than 60 million Americans and provide jobs to more than 30 million people in the United States. During the three-day conference, ALEC and ACCE members will attend workshops, plenary sessions and task force meetings to discuss and exchange ideas on policy in the states. Legislators will also come together to discuss school safety and what needs to be done to make schools more secure.

Throughout the conference they will hear from notable speakers including: White House Special Assistant in the Office of American Innovation Brooke Rollins, Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao, Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, and Mark Janus, the Plaintiff in the monumental Janus v. AFSCME Supreme Court case.
