Fraker to lead medical marijuana unit within DHSS

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has a new division to handle the legalization of medical marijuana and have chosen a term-limited state representative to head the unit.

On Wednesday, the department announced that Rep. Lyndall Fraker will be Director of Medical Marijuana and Amy Moore will serve as Deputy Director/Counsel for Medical Marijuana.

Medical marijuana was legalized on November 6, 2018, through a statewide vote.

“We welcome Lyndall and Amy and their leadership as we dutifully execute the implementation of Amendment 2,” said DHSS Director Dr. Randall Williams.

“Administering this new program needs to be done in the right way for Missouri,” said Fraker. “I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Missouri in my new capacity.”

Fraker was first elected to the Missouri House in 2010 and has represented parts of Webster and Greene counties in the lower chamber for eight years.

A building contractor and real estate developer, Fraker has previously served as Webster County Northern Commissioner. He formerly worked as a Wal-Mart manager for 17 years, the last seven in Marshfield, Missouri. He is on the board of the Marshfield Public Schools Foundation and also serves as a member of the Missouri Workforce Investment Board.
