JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been selected as a finalist for the national State Chamber of the Year Award.
The annual honor highlights innovative programs and best practices of state chambers and recognizes their leaders who have distinguished themselves by providing exceptional services and results for their membership. It is presented by the Council of State Chambers.

With our bold Missouri 2030 initiative leading our efforts, we are making progress in Missouri and it’s all thanks to the commitment and hard work of the Missouri Chamber staff, our members and our supporters across the state,” said Daniel P. Mehan, Missouri Chamber president & CEO.
The Missouri Chamber’s selection as a finalist was based on an application that cited the organization’s policy leadership during a turbulent time in state government. Some of the Missouri Chamber’s recent successes include:
- Establishing the Show-Me Careers Educator Experience to help teachers learn about in-demand careers.
- Launching Missouri Intern Connect, attracting hundreds of students and businesses while promoting internships.
- Passing new laws to give Missouri the second lowest corporate tax rate, modernize our energy grid, increase workforce readiness, improve our state’s legal climate and boost funding for vital transportation repairs.
- Creating a new small business health insurance plan that’s now used at more than 1,200 businesses.
- Setting new fundraising records and building positive trends in membership recruitment.
- Spearheading a campaign with the Leadership Missouri Alumni Association to repair and restore the Missouri Governor’s Mansion.
