Macy Mitchell makes bid to replace term-limited Rep. Jeff Messenger in HD 130

Local small-business owner, Macy Mitchell, has announced his candidacy to be the next representative of Greene County’s House District 130. The district includes the communities of Republic, Willard, Ash Grove, Walnut Grove, and Springfield that are currently represented by Jeff Messenger, who is term-limited and cannot run again.

Currently Mitchell, who resides in Republic, MO is the owner of several business enterprises throughout the region. He is the Chief Operations Officer of their 32 year old family-owned business All-American Rental & Sales, with seven locations in the area. He is also the owner of CrossFit Republic and Form and Fuel Nutrition, employing over 60 people throughout the community.

“As a small-business owner and active community member, I have seen first hand how government can hinder more than it can help,” said Mitchell. “In short, limited-government is a key component to prosperity. I want to see more people growing their businesses, creating jobs, and keeping more of their hard-earned money. I want to ensure every child has access to a quality education. I want to protect our rights to bear arms and to stand up for the unborn. I want to be a voice for our community in Jefferson City.”

Macy attended grade school and high school in Willard and graduated from Evangel University with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Bio-Psychology. He attended with academic and athletic scholarships and became National Champion in Track and Field in the 400 meter dash, being inducted into his university’s Athletic Hall of Fame for several national championship appearances.

Macy sees his business enterprises as a form of community outreach and volunteerism. He hosts Special Olympics programs, takes his staff to volunteer at Convoy of Hope, has led foster kid programs and awareness events for child abuse and neglect through his businesses. Macy organizes events called “Hero Workouts” at his CrossFit gym in the name of fallen soldiers and has hosted an annual Hero Showdown Competition where the proceeds go toward care packages for deployed troops. He also conducts monthly fundraisers for those in need, has plans to partner with local pregnancy care centers, and serves on the Care to Learn Board to help ensure health, hunger, and hygiene needs are met for area students.

In his spare time, Macy also serves as a motivational speaker at local schools, helping to inspire the area’s next generation. “I believe it is our duty to take the blessings God has granted us and to use them for the betterment of our neighbors. Our next generation has the promise of solving problems, not creating them.  I live among, work among, and know the people of our local community, and with a track record of taking action and producing results, I believe I can excel as their state representative.”

Macy has highlighted his legislative priorities as creating jobs, quality education for our youth, and honoring American heroes. “I’ve worked with several organizations to honor local veterans and law enforcement. These men and women protect us everyday and we must have their backs. As a state representative, I’ll work to ensure that our men and women in uniform, past and present, get the attention and care that they deserve.”

Macy and his wife of 14 years, Jennifer, have three children, Jett (9), June (7), and Jaxon (4). The children are homeschooled by Jennifer with Classical Conversation Curriculum. The family attends Word of Life Church in Marionville.

Macy Mitchell has retained Axiom Strategies to serve as consultants on his campaign.
