JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — It was a short agenda for the Public Service Commission (PSC) Wednesday, with only two orders at hand.
The PSC took up issues stemming from Confluence Rivers Utility Operating Company’s plans to take over water and sewer systems in Perry County. The company has sought a certificate of convenience and necessity, and the Lake Perry Lot Owners’ Association — potential customers — have objected to the sale.
On Wednesday, the PSC largely denied requests from both Confluence Rivers and the lot owners to strike portions of testimony given in the case. Commissioners did, however, agree to allow additional live testimony at an evidentiary hearing scheduled for next week.
Commissioners denied a rehearing regarding Empire District Electric Company, Empire District Gas Company, Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corp., and Liberty Utilities (Missouri Water)’s application for an affiliate transaction rule variance.
The PSC noted the Office of the Public Counsel filed the rehearing application in a “timely” fashion on Sept. 13 but denied it because it did “not demonstrate sufficient reason to rehear the matter.”
The next agenda meeting is scheduled for Oct. 9 at 9:30 a.m.
