Ameren Missouri, Ameren Services heads to switch roles

The presidents of Ameren Services and Ameren Missouri are switching roles in December.

Marty Lyons, Ameren’s president as well as chief financial officer and executive vice president, will take over Ameren Missouri on Dec. 1, the company announced Tuesday. Coincidingly, Ameren Missouri President Michael Moehn will then lead Ameren Services.

“This important rotation of responsibilities for Marty and Michael is consistent with Ameren’s robust senior executive development process,” Warner L. Baxter, the chairman; president; and chief executive officer of Ameren Corporation, said in a statement.

“This process is designed to ensure that our senior leadership team has the breadth of executive leadership experiences that will enable Ameren to continue to deliver superior value to our customers, the communities we serve, and shareholders as our industry continues to transform,” Baxter said.

Both men have been with Ameren for nearly 20 years.

Lyons joined the utility company in 2001. According to his Ameren biography, Lyons has overseen $1.1 billion of equity financings, $8.5 billion of debt financings, and multiple credit facility renegotiations as the company’s CFO. He is also credited with moving Ameren to a pure-play rate-regulated utility.

Prior to joining Ameren, Lyons was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Moehn, too, is a former employee at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He joined Ameren as an assistant controller in 2000 before eventually being promoted to the vice president of Ameren Energy Resources just two years later. He’s served in leadership roles with Ameren Illinois and Ameren Missouri in the past, according to his biography

“Both Michael and Marty are exemplary leaders in our company, our community, and industry,” Baxter said. “We are fortunate that we are able to execute this organizational change to further strengthen our company.”
