Arch Grants announces new executive director

ST. LOUIS – The nonprofit organization for the improvement of St. Louis known as Arch Grants has released an announcement that they have hired native St. Louisan and Washington University graduate, Emily Lohse-Busch as their new executive director.

Functioning as a globally recognized national start-up contest, Arch Grants supports entrepreneurs and start-up companies with $50,000 grants along with any other services to efficiently maneuver towards success to enhance St. Louis and its economy.

As someone home to St. Louis and who has found success in her own endeavors establishing a strategic communication and acting as strategic leadership for firms in her former city of Chicago as well as previously working as Senior Director of Partner Solutions for Global Impact, she stood out to Arch Grants as the best person for the position.

“We are thrilled after a national search, to have Emily join us as Executive Director,” Chairman of Arch Grants, Jerry Schlichter said. “Emily demonstrates what is core to the mission of Arch Grants – attracting and retaining national talent in St. Louis – plus she is a founder herself.”

Schlichter added that Lohse-Busch’s non-profit fundraising and leadership experience guarantees that Arch Grants will be moving forward in the right direction and that with their continued progress St. Louis will soon be transformed into a prominent “innovation hub.”

“She has returned to St. Louis, planting her flag here to help to build a new St. Louis – the same mission as that of Arch Grants,” Schlichter continued.

Lohse-Busch declared her excitement for her new position in a message of her own regarding gratitude and what is to come in regards to the future of the organization.

“As a native St. Louisan and an avid believer in the future of this city, I am grateful…for the passion, commitment and trust put into Arch Grants and the promise it holds for St. Louis,” Lohse-Busch said. “In its first five years, Arch Grants has made incredible strides toward creating momentum and has secured itself as a critical organization to drive economic development in our city. I look forward to partnering with the Board, the community and all of the meaningful change in the years to come.”
