(JEFFERSON CITY) – The Committee for Accountable Government in Missouri issued the following statement today regarding Rep. Ron Hicks’ announcement that he will not be seeking re-election:
“We expect our Republican elected officials to do what’s right and support pro-growth, pro-jobs legislation,” said Brandon Moody, a spokesperson for the Committee. “Rep. Hicks’ announcement comes during the first week of our advertising campaign. We remain hopeful that his seat will be filled by someone who truly supports policies like Right to Work that will get Missouri’s economy moving. We will review whether we will weigh in on his mayoral campaign as pro-growth mayors are equally important to not only towns like St. Peters but also to the State of Missouri.”
The Committee for Accountable Government in Missouri, who is responsible for the advertising that began this week targeting twenty members of the Missouri House that opposed Right to Work legislation, has raised more than $1 million for the campaign to date.
