SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Christian-based women’s political action group has endorsed the self-described “unapologetic” Christian running for a Missouri House seat.
Georjene Tilton is running to represent HD 137 which encompasses parts Greene and Webster counties. She will face off against the other Republican running for the seat, John Black, in the August primary. Rep. Lyndall Fraker, a Republican, has held the seat for eight years and is term-limited.
Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee is supporting Tilton’s bid. The group cited her record of living out her pro-life, pro-family beliefs along with more than 20 years of experience in education as the reasons for the endorsement.
“What really impresses me is that she is an everyday person, who not only talks the talk of a conservative but also walks the walk. There are plenty of people with strong convictions about issues, but many of them don’t take the next step of actively pursuing viable solutions,” stated Alissa Johnson, CWALAC Legislative Liaison for the Missouri State Chapter.
The CWALAC’s mission statement says the group “protects and promotes Biblical values and Constitutional principles through prayer, education, and advocacy.”
On her campaign website, Tilton describes herself as “an unapologetic, mature Christian who subscribes to a Christian Worldview.”
Tilton has led the Greene County Republican Women as President, as well as serving as an elected committeewoman for the Greene County Republican Central Committee, and she is a small business owner.
She has also taught Bible class through her church for 14 years and taught high school Christian apologetics classes she developed for a private school.
“I am confident that she is not afraid to stand up for what is right, even when under political pressure to do otherwise,” said Johnson. “She already has good, established relationships with many officeholders in the Southwest Missouri areas and will work easily with other like-minded legislators to promote conservative policies to reduce the size of government, promote the protection of the unborn, and advocate for locally controlled education.”
