Greitens releases new ad, keeps ‘Taking Aim’ in rotation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Republican gubernatorial candidate Eric Greitens released his third tv ad of the campaign via email and on Twitter Monday.

“Serving” will enter an advertising rotation with his other ads, “Taking Aim” and “Strong,” Greitens’ campaign manager, Austin Chambers, tweeted.

“Taking Aim,” the first spot released by the campaign last week, received criticism before and after Sunday’s mass shooting in Orlando. In the ad, Greitens fires a M4 rifle and explodes a barrel of sorts while saying he would take “dead aim at politics as usual.” Later in the ad, Greitens says, “If you’re ready for a conservative outsider, I’m ready to fire away.”

“We will continue running our advertising program as planned,” Chambers said in an email.

“Taking Aim” was released June 6 and had more than 38,000 views on YouTube as of noon Monday.

The campaign’s second ad, “Strong,” was also released last week and features Greitens’ military experience, specifically his experience hunting terrorists. That ad had 3,500 views.

The new ad, called “Serving,” again focuses on Greitens’ military service and features him saying Jefferson City’s “corrupt” culture is hurting people in the state.
