JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – During a motion of previous question today, Rep. Kevin Engler, R-Farmington, stood to acknowledge that someone special had a question for Caucus Chair Rep. Shelley Keeney, R-Marble Hill, who was presiding on the dais.
Justin Taylor, a financial advisor from Sikeston who is very involved in the local Chamber of Commerce, approached the dais and asked Keeney to marry him. They embraced.
“I don’t think I heard your answer, Madame Speaker,” Engler said.
“Yes! Definitely yes!” said Keeney.
Keeney tearfully completed the motion, and the House is now recessed until 1:30 p.m.
