The evening of November 8, 2016, Missouri elected a new governor, Eric Greitens.The Missouri House of Representatives were more than eager to meet with greitens noting that he was the change that they needed (Legislative leaders optimistic about working with Greitens despite corruption accusations. The Missouri Times. 11 November 2016).
Global warming is changing the way we live everyday. With the highest asthma rates in St.louis, Missouri needs change. Greitens is a fresh new face in politics, and he can change the game by putting sustainability in his top priorities. Governor-elect Greitens should support the Clean Power Plan proposed by President Obama in Missouri. Greitens can also support the Grain Belt Express Clean Line. The Governor-elect wants to bring more jobs to Missouri, and the Clean Line is a great way to do that and boost the economy. Renewable energy could significantly strengthen our State’s economy.
Missouri needs a positive change in terms of the environment, and Greitens can be that momentum to implement these changes.
