JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission is scheduled to hold formal evidentiary hearings in December in a case filed by Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI).
ATXI is asking the Public Service Commission to either find that it does not have jurisdiction, or in the alternative, grant ATXI a certificate of convenience and necessity to build, operate and maintain a 345-kV electric transmission line from Palmyra, Missouri to the Iowa border and an associated substation near Kirksville, Missouri.
According to the ATXI application, the proposed 345-kV electric transmission line is approximately 95 miles in length, running generally from a substation near Palmyra, Missouri and extending through Marion, Shelby, Knox and Adair counties to a new substation located near Kirksville, Missouri (Zachary Substation), and proceeding through Schuyler County to a connection point on the Iowa border, together with a 2.2-mile 161-kV connector line from the Zachary Substation to Ameren Missouri’s existing Adair substation.
Formal evidentiary hearings in this case are scheduled to begin on December 14, 2015, in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, Jefferson City. Hearings are scheduled through December 18, 2015. These hearings will be held in a building that meets the accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Commission will be holding three local public hearings in this case. An order announcing that schedule will be made when dates, times and locations are finalized.
