PSC STAFF FILES COMPLAINT AGAINST ALLEGED WATER PROVIDER

JEFFERSON CITY—The Staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC Staff) has filed a complaint against Fawn Lake Water Corp. and Rachel Hackman alleging water services are being unlawfully provided to customers.

The PSC Staff alleges the company is selling potable water for gain using property and facilities that they own, operate and control.  As a result, the complaint alleges, Fawn Lake Water Corp. is subject to Public Service Commission regulation and has failed to obtain the appropriate approval from the Commission.  Specifically, the PSC Staff alleges Fawn Lake Water Corp. is providing water services to approximately 90 customers near Wright City in Warren County.

In its complaint, the PSC Staff also alleges Fawn Lake Water Corp. has failed to provide safe and adequate service.  “Conversations with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and with customers indicate that Respondents have many service quality issues, including possibly contaminated water,” said the PSC Staff complaint.

Customers who have service related issues are urged to contact the PSC Staff (P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, telephone 1-800-392-4211, e-mail pscinfo@psc.mo.gov).

The PSC Staff complaint is asking the Commission to order Fawn Lake Water Corp. to make necessary and desirable improvements to the system in order to safeguard the public health and safety and authorize its General Counsel to go to circuit court to seek penalties against Fawn Lake Water Corp. and Rachel Hackman.

Fawn Lake Water Corp. and Rachel Hackman have until July 13, 2015 to file a response to the PSC Staff complaint.
