KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bev Randles, former chairman of the Missouri Club for Growth, has announced her official candidacy for lieutenant governor after months of an active exploratory committee.
Randles, a Sikeston native who now resides in Kansas City with her family, has pledged to only serve two terms, if elected, despite the office not having term limits.
“I believe, as many of the founders fathers including Franklin, Madison, Adams and Jefferson did, that service in elective offices should be limited,” said Randles. “It’s important for political parties, as well as elective offices at all levels, to periodically be infused with new people and fresh ideas, and if Missouri’s voters elect me as their next lieutenant governor, I pledge to serve no more than two terms in that office.”
The campaign announced via a YouTube video and release issued early this morning. The video goes back to Randles’ roots in Southeast Missouri and touts her experience working on tax cuts, featuring a quote from fellow Club for Groth-er former Speaker Tim Jones.
“My goal is to continue working on issues that will have a positive impact on the lives of all Missourians, which is why I am running to be Missouri’s next lieutenant governor.
My belief is that every Missouri citizen should have the same opportunities to succeed that I have had, no matter what part of the state they are from, no matter what their economic circumstances are, and no matter the color of their skin…
As your next lieutenant governor, I pledge to you to work every day to make that vision a reality for you and your family.”
Randles is an attorney. She and her husband, Bill, reside with their son in Kansas City. Bill Randles ran for governor in 2012.
