Release: Criticism of Jason Kander Coming from Both Parties

JEFFERSON CITY – During the veto session in the Missouri legislature, state senators in both parties stood in the Senate chamber to criticize Jason Kander for his ineptitude as Secretary of State and for pandering on an environmental issue.

Democrat State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal and Republican State Senator Will Kraus both criticized Kander’s ballot blunders as Secretary of State, including the recent absentee voter fraud that led to a court ordering a new election. Senator Chappelle-Nadal also criticized Kander for pandering to Missourians over the West Lake Landfill controversy.

The new criticism of Kander comes as a bipartisan group of 58 current and former local election officials went on record opposing Kander after he has repeatedly failed to do his job as Secretary of State.

“The criticism of Jason Kander for his failures and ineptitude has been bipartisan and Missourians heard it again on the floor of the Missouri Senate,” said Rich Chrismer, a communications advisor to the Missouri Republican Party. “On Jason Kander’s watch as Missouri’s chief elections official, virtually every election has been marred by ballot blunders and, most recently, absentee voter fraud. Jason Kander is failing at his current job while seeking a promotion and it has not gone unnoticed by people in both parties.”
