REP. ROWDEN AND BAYSE SHOULD CALL FOR THE RESIGNATION OF FRED BERRY AFTER INAPPROPRIATE TWEET

JEFFERSON CITY- With increased attention this past year to the mistreatment of women in Jefferson City, Boone County GOP Representatives Caleb Rowden and Chuck Basye should call on Fred Berry, President of the local Pachyderm Club to resign after tweeting inappropriate statements and a picture of young women at the University of Missouri’s Homecoming Parade.

On October 10, during Homecoming weekend at the University of Missouri, Columbia-area GOP Leader Fred Berry sent the following objectifying tweet of young women and then using the acronym, “VNB” meaning, “Very Nice Butts.”

Berry refused to apologize, saying he was commenting on their “obvious athletic build.” The women of Mid-Missouri are not fooled and members of Berry’s party need to step up and put decency ahead of their politics. Rep. Caleb Rowden and Chuck Bayse who represent Boone County have so far been silent on Berry’s remarks.

If Rowden, Bayse, and other Republicans let comments such as these go by without criticism, it is obvious their political allegiance matters more than respecting women.
