Republicans meet before filing for elections

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – Missouri Republicans gathered this morning in House Hearing Room 3 before making their way to the Secretary of States office to file for election and re-election.

Following introductions, Majority Floor Leader Rep. John Diehl, R-Town and Country,  gave a short speech to those in the room.  Diehl urged his fellow party members to “keep it clean” during the primary elections.

“Keep your perspective, keep your friends, and keep your family” Diehl urged new coming and incumbent Republicans alike.

After Diehl’s address U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner, St. Louis, and State Auditor Tom Schweich also gave short speeches to the present Republicans.

Republican candidates then made their way down to the Secretary of State’s office to file for election following the meeting.  Election filling will be open through March 25.
