Schmitt announces transition team

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — State Treasurer-elect Eric Schmitt released details on his transition team Tuesday, and he will have help from a woman who knows the post well: former State Treasurer Sarah Steelman will lead the team.

Steelman served in the post from 2005 to early 2009, serving only one term as she attempted to run for governor in 2008, narrowly losing in the Republican primary to Kenny Hulshof. She was also one of the early advocates of Gov.-elect Eric Greitens in this election cycle. World Wide Technology Chairman David Steward will also lead the transition team. World Wide Technology is one of the largest private companies based in St. Louis.

Others joining the transition team will be former State Senator Jason Crowell and Cliff Holekamp, a professor in entrepreneurship at Washington University.
