Scott Fitzpatrick wins Republican nomination for Auditor

Jefferson City, Mo. — Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick has secured the Republican nomination for the State Auditor race.

Fitzpatrick defeated Rep. Randy Gregory, R-St. Louis, Tuesday night. The state Treasurer was the favorite coming into the race, as he actively serves as a statewide elected official.

Gregory competed and fundraised more than was expected, and some held that the race could be a toss-up. However, Fitzpatrick won decisively and will go on to the general election as he seeks to replace Missouri’s only statewide elected Democrat, Nicole Galloway.

Fitzpatrick will go on to face Alan Green in the general election.
