St. Louis City Prosecutor Mary Pat Carl Announces Campaign for Circuit Attorney

Announces Endorsement of Retiring Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce

 

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis City Assistant Circuit Attorney Mary Pat Carl announced today that she is a candidate for Circuit Attorney in the Democratic primary on August 2, 2016. Carl also announced she has secured the endorsement of retiring Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce.

“I’ve dedicated my professional career to holding criminals accountable for the crimes they commit and ensuring justice is served,” said Carl. “I’m confident that as a community we can make our streets safer and ensure our courts are fair.”

For more than a decade, Carl has prosecuted criminals, handling cases involving all types of crime. As a member of the Violent Crimes Unit and now as Lead Homicide Prosecutor, she’s seen first hand the devastating toll crime takes on our community. As St. Louis Circuit Attorney, she will continue to hold herself and the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office to the highest professional and ethical standards as your dedicated public servant.

Mary Pat Carl was born and raised in St. Louis. She currently lives in South City with her husband Christopher and four children.

Carl earned her undergraduate degree in Women’s Studies and Political Science from DePaul University in Chicago and her law degree from Washington University, in St. Louis.

She is currently the Lead Homicide Prosecutor in the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s office.
