The Missouri Times names new editor

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Times has named Kaitlyn Schallhorn its new editor, effective Dec. 2.

A native of Missouri, Schallhorn takes over the position after previously serving the paper as a statehouse reporter.

“Kaitlyn is a tremendous fit to lead The Missouri Times into its next incarnation,” said Missouri Times Publisher Scott Faughn. “Her experience working for Fox News in New York combined with her Laclede County Missourah roots give her a unique perspective not just in the statehouse but in any market in the state.”

She will also be taking a role as a producer on the weekly Missouri news talk show “This Week in Missouri Politics.”

Schallhorn came to The Missouri Times after working as a reporter with Fox News in New York City. There, Schallhorn covered breaking news and authored in-depth explainers on the news of the day, with an emphasis on politics and original reporting. She was part of the inaugural SEO team where she played a role in developing company-wide strategies to grow FoxNews.com’s Google traffic drastically.

Throughout her career, Schallhorn has covered political campaigns across the U.S. — including the 2016 presidential election — and humanitarian aid efforts in Africa and the Middle East.

Schallhorn grew up in Lebanon, Missouri, before moving to South Carolina. She studied English and journalism at Winthrop University and is an alumna of the National Journalism Center in Washington, D.C.

The Missouri Times is a print and digital news publication focused on Missouri statewide politics and policy. The publication follows day-to-day state politics and policy issues — from in-depth features to insight into regulatory decisions.
