This Week in Missouri Politics expanding into northeast Missouri

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – This Week in Missouri Politics is expanding into the northeast Missouri market and will now air on KTVO ABC 3 at 9:00 a.m. starting next Sunday, June 21.

“We are thrilled to bring the show to the honey lands of northeast Missouri,” said This Week in Missouri Politics host Scott Faughn.

This Week in Missouri Politics is a program that discusses issues important in the Missouri public policy process. The format features a guest at the top of the show followed by a panel discussion amongst Missouri opinion makers.

KTVO is the oldest television station in northeast Missouri with a deep history in region. The show will air following This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

Local response has been positive. “Expanding the show is great for the rapport in the Capitol, allows transparency, and brings light to issues that otherwise not get the attention they deserve. It’s great that the show is expanding to northeast Missouri,” said Senator Brian Munzlinger (R-Lewis County).

“It seems we have said this before, but we are so grateful to our views that the show has gotten off to such a tremendous start, and I hope that our viewers know that the support has been humbling,” Faughn said.  “We hope the viewers will make This Week in Missouri Politics a part of their Sunday morning news routine.”

Programming Notes

The mid-Missouri market for the show is changing right out of the gate. The Jefferson City-Columbia market for This Week in Missouri Politics will be on KRCG CBS 13 beginning at 6:00 a.m.

“Our viewers are the most important thing to us. So important that we wanted to be on the top network in the region that includes the state capitol.  KRCG is unquestionably the top network in the market, and we will work with them following our summer hiatus to obtain a better time slot, but it really just comes down to choosing to be in the major leagues or the minor leagues, and we want to be on the major league station in mid-Missouri,” said Faughn.

On a big week of news for the show, it’s official that Mark Reardon will be the guest host on the show going forward. Reardon hosts a radio program daily on KMOX in St. Louis, and has hosted a similar program while in Milwaukee.

This Week in Missouri Politics currently airs Sundays on ABC 30 in St. Louis at 11:00, at 10:30 on KBSI FOX 23 in southeast Missouri, and all episodes are streamed online at noon at www.twmp.tv.
