JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Public Service Commission worked through a wide variety of agenda items granting an order for reconciliation, denying an application for rehearing, and approving a tariff notice.
On January 9, 2019, the commission approved a detailed reconciliation regarding the dollar value and rate or charge impact of contested issues decided in a rate case for Liberty Utilities.
Liberty Utilities’ request for a rehearing in the same case was also denied.
Ameren Missouri’s request for a waiver from the 60-day notice requirement was granted while their request for variance was denied.
Ameren Missouri explained in their filings that in 2018 its corrective action schedule was disrupted by certain factors in particular the deployment of Ameren Missouri resources to assist in the restoration of electric services to Puerto Rico in the wake of the destruction of Hurricane Maria.
The company stated in its filing that it plans to complete those actions no later than March 31, 2019. Since Ameren is only required to report by July 1, 2019, the corrective actions that were not completed as scheduled in 2018, the commission found that no variance is needed and denied the request.
The PSC will also allow a tariff go into effect on January 18, 2019. Ameren Missouri filed a revised tariff that implements a Rider Economic Development Incentive (Rider EDI) and modifies Ameren Missouri’s existing Economic Development and Redevelopment Rider (Rider EDRR).
Commission staff indicated the Rider EDI tariff contains an appropriate, alternative definition of load factor that reasonably implements the economic development rider contemplated in the controlling statute.
The next PSC meeting is scheduled for January 16, 2019.
