Major League Baseball proves once again that Missouri is the greatest state in the union as the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals finish the regular season as the two best teams in their respective leagues.
Of course, having two of baseball’s best teams and two postseason series leading off this week has respective regional lawmakers going crazy for their hometown teams as excitement fills the state.
Conveniently placed after veto session and before early bill filing, legislators from around the state are able to fully embrace and enjoy the MLB Postseason and World Series, which is why The Missouri Times is thrilled to announce the first ever Legislative Twitter Correspondent Series!
The opportunity of the postseason was too easy and fun to pass up, so the Missouri Times will bring together state legislators to bridge the gap along I-70 between baseball royalty and Redbird Nation.
House and Senate members across the great state of Missouri have agreed to be postseason correspondents and will be tweeting about their respective teams under #molegpostseason.
- Senator Eric Schmitt, R-Glendale, one of the biggest Cardinals’ fans in existence, will be the ace of the staff as the St. Louis Cardinals correspondent. Look for St. Louis-area lawmakers to contribute to the Senator’s correspondence.
- Rep. Lauren Arthur, D-Kansas City, is the designated hitter, -er, Twitterer serving as Kansas City Royals correspondent, with assistance from the bullpen in the from Sen. Jason Holsman, D-Kansas City, who will also contribute.
