Reichard to become partner at Statehouse Strategies

Longtime Jefferson City lobbyist Jay Reichard of Statehouse Strategies will reportedly become a partner at the firm.

Andy Blunt, the founder of Statehouse Strategies, announced in a letter to his clients that Reichard had accepted an offer to become partner at the firm.

“Together over the last twelve years, Jay and I have stood side by side and created what I believe to be one of the most effective practices in Jefferson City,” Blunt wrote. “As clients, you know that each and every day we have strived to advocate vigorously and with integrity in the state Capitol, and the results speak for themselves.

“I am pleased that Jay has accepted an offer to become a partner at Statehouse Strategies LLC, and I am excited about the great results I know we will continue to deliver for our clients.”

Blunt and Reichard have worked together for the last 12 years. Reichard was previously a member of Schreimann, Rackers, Francka & Blunt, LLC lobbying firm and when Blunt left to create Statehouse, Reichard and their clientele came along.

Reichard says he’s “honored” to receive the promotion to partner.

“Andy and I have worked together for long enough that a lot of what we do has just sort of evolved over time,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity for me to try to service our clients in the way we have over the last 10 to 12 years. I don’t see it as a big change in workload, just a change in how we do things internally or procedurally.”

Even though he acknowledges that legislators and lobbyists sometimes get a “bad wrap,” he wants to continue doing his job from “a position of integrity.”

“The people who have mentored me emphasize… the correct way of doing business is being honest,” he said. “And that’s the way Andy and I have always done things and the way things tend to work out.”
