Senator Ryan Silvey to Host Press Availability Regarding Healthcare Coverage for Veterans

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Ryan Silvey, R-Kansas City, will host press availability on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Missouri State Capitol at 11 a.m. in the Senate’s new fourth floor gallery to discuss legislation relating to healthcare coverage for veterans in the Show-Me State. The senator will be joined by the Missouri Association of Veterans Organizations, a coalition of veteran advocacy groups.
“According to the most recent data, there are around 50,000 veterans and their families in this state who cannot afford healthcare coverage,” said Sen. Silvey. “As a long-time advocate for those who serve and protect our country, I think it’s critical we find a fiscally responsible way to address a serious problem affecting our veterans. These men and women sacrifice more than we’ll ever know; we have a duty as citizens to support them here at home.”

Senator Silvey will be on hand to answer any questions regarding his efforts this year to address healthcare coverage for veterans in Missouri.
