PR: MSTA records fifth straight year of membership increase, now has 46,000 members

(Columbia, MO) – After seven years of continued growth, the largest education organization in Missouri now has more than 46,000 members in districts across the state.

“The Missouri State Teachers Association continues to grow because of the exceptional services and support we provide all of our members,” MSTA’s Executive Director Bruce Moe said. “Now more than ever educators see the value in actively participating in an association that gives them a voice in their profession.”

MSTA supports members by providing:

  • Professional development
  • A voice at the Capitol
  • Salary resources and negotiation tactics
  • Liability insurance

Since 1856 MSTA has maintained a commitment to support its members so they can focus on working with Missouri students in the classroom, Moe said.

MSTA’s 46,000 members are made up of certified teachers, school employees, students pursuing a degree in education and retired educators. More than 73 percent of MSTA’s membership is made up of certified teachers.
