Release: Blaine Luetkemeyer Files for 3rd Congressional District Seat

JEFFERSON CITY, MO- Today Blaine Luetkemeyer filed for re-election to Missouri’s 3rd Congressional District. The 3rd District consists of all or part of 13 counties and they are: Camden, Cole, Miller, Maries, Osage, Callaway, Montgomery, Gasconade, Franklin, Warren, St. Charles, Lincoln and Jefferson.

“This election is a critical opportunity to turn our country around after eight years of the Obama Administration ignoring our Constitution, diminishing our national defense, and burying our economy under an avalanche of rules and regulations. I am running for re-election to continue to fight for the hard-working taxpayers of the 3rd District and I look forward to spending the next several months listening to voters across the district, discussing my conservative principals, and outlining commonsense solutions to meet today‘s challenges,” said Luetkemeyer.

Luetkemeyer, 63, was first elected to Congress in 2008 and won re-election again in 2010, 2012 and 2014. A native of St. Elizabeth, MO., in Miller County,  Luetkemeyer is a lifelong resident of the District and has worked as a small businessman having been in the banking and insurance industry. Luetkemeyer also has a strong background in agriculture including operating a 160-acre family farm.

Luetkemeyer has previously been endorsed by Missouri Right to Life, the National Rifle Association and the Missouri Farm Bureau among other organizations.  He will seek their endorsements again for the 2016 election.

Luetkemeyer is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Eldon Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association and a lifelong member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He is a graduate of Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo., where he earned a degree with distinction in political science and a minor in business administration.
