Rep. Dottie Bailey named to Education Commission

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Speaker of the House Elijah Haahr has named Rep. Dottie Bailey to the Education Commission of the States. Haahr made the announcement in a communication following caucus meetings held during the special session in Jefferson City this week.

“I’m so pleased that the speaker has shown confidence in me by appointing me to this important body,” said Bailey. “I’ll be joining colleagues from across the nation to work on issues relating to the education of our children.”

In most states, commissioners include the governor, a state Senator, a state Representative and four gubernatorial appointees. The Education Commission of the States serves as a partner to state policymakers by providing personalized support and helping education leaders come together and learn from one another.

“This is a great opportunity to collaborate with other policymakers around the nation to develop sound education policy, see what’s working and what isn’t, and bring the best solutions to the State of Missouri,” explained Bailey.
