Release: Hanaway Statement on Terrorist Attacks In Belgium

St. Louis- Former federal prosecutor and gubernatorial candidate Catherine Hanaway released the following statement following terrorist attacks in Belgium today.

“Today’s loss of life in Belgium was tragic and I grieve for those who were victims of these senseless acts. For too long, Western European countries have implemented liberal immigration policies that have allowed unvetted refugees from radical Islamic terrorist hotbeds to flow freely across their borders. It is clear those radical Islamic refugees have become active in their desire to destroy societies built upon democracy and Judeo-Christian values.

Similarly, our current Governor is allowing unvetted refugees from terrorist states to be relocated into Missouri by the federal government. The threat of radical terrorists hiding among refugees and committing terrorist attacks against Missourians is real. We must protect our Midwestern way of life from radical Islam. As your next Governor, I will keep Missouri safe and strong by not allowing unvetted refugees from terrorist countries to be relocated to Missouri by the federal government.”
