Gov. Jay Nixon will be in Sedalia today (Aug. 11) to kick off the 2016 Missouri State Fair. The theme of the 2016 Missouri State Fair is “See What Crops Up” as the Fair marks its 114th year.
At 10 a.m., the Governor will participate in the official opening day ceremony at the Agriculture Building, where he will be joined by Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Richard Fordyce; Fair Director Mark Wolfe; and State Fair Commission Chairman Lowell Mohler.
“The Missouri State Fair is a time honored tradition in the Show-Me State, celebrating our number one industry – agriculture,” Gov. Nixon said. “I invite all families to come to Sedalia to enjoy the music, entertainment, great food found right here at out annual showcase of Missouri agriculture.”
