Columbia – Josh Hawley, the conservative outsider for Attorney General, today announced the launch of Prosecutors for Hawley, a coalition of Missouri prosecutors supporting his campaign.
“Missouri needs an Attorney General from outside of the Jefferson City establishment,” said Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd. “Josh Hawley has the experience to do the job but is also an outsider who will shake up the status quo. Josh understands the system works best closest to the people and rejects the idea of centralizing prosecutorial power in Jefferson City. I know Josh will work hand in hand with prosecuting attorneys to ensure safer communities for Missouri families.”
“Josh Hawley is a serious, accomplished attorney with traditional values who understands Constitutional issues inside and out,” said St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar. “Missouri’s next Attorney General must be willing to fight the tough fights, enforce our laws, and protect the rights of our citizens. Josh has the right combination of experience and conviction to be an extremely effective Attorney General for Missouri.”
“As Attorney General, Josh Hawley will stand with Missouri law enforcement,” said Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson. “He understands that the vast majority of law enforcement men and women are good people doing a tough job keeping our families safe. Josh will make an excellent partner for our police and prosecutors, and I am excited to endorse his candidacy.”
“I’m honored to have the support of this outstanding group of Missouri public servants,” said Hawley. “As Attorney General, I will work hand in hand with our state’s outstanding prosecuting attorneys to keep Missouri families safe.”
Prosecutors for Hawley is led by a seven-person team of prosecutors from across Missouri, including the Kansas City and St. Louis metro areas, southwest Missouri, and mid-Missouri. The counties where those prosecutors work—Platte, St. Charles, Franklin, Greene, Christian, Stone, and Cole–represent some of Missouri’s most populous counties in Republican primary elections. Collectively, those counties are home to more than one million Missouri citizens.
