Release: GOVERNOR NIXON SAYS MILITARY PERSONNEL ARE NOT FIT TO LEAD…DOES CHRIS KOSTER AGREE?

JEFFERSON CITY —  Yesterday Governor Nixon joined the ranks of Collin Kaepernick and fellow Democrat Jamilah Nasheed when he revealed his lack of respect for the men and women who sacrifice their lives for his freedom.
According to Nixon, the training and experience of our military personnel isn’t good enough to be what he is: Governor.  Nixon further tailored his remarks to attack Republican gubernatorial candidate and war hero, Eric Greitens.
No training?  Eric Greitens‘ resume includes being a Rhodes scholar, a Navy SEAL who served four deployments (including Iraq and Afghanistan), a recipient of a Bronze Star and Purple Heart and the Founder and Executive Director of The Mission Continues — which helps transition veterans back home and allows them to use their skills to positively impact the community.
Chris Koster, long time political ally of Nixon, has also been vocal about his belief that Greitens should be a fellow career politician if he wants to be Governor, calling Greitens a “political outsider.”
“Today we saw Governor Nixon join the ranks of people like Collin Kaepernick in his total lack of respect for our country’s bravest men and women.  Nixon’s confession that veterans don’t hold the training necessary to fill his shoes as Governor is in direct conflict with the tests of leadership and endurance our military personnel achieve — it’s what makes them the best in the world,” said Kristen Blanchard Ansley, Director of State Communications for the Missouri Republican Party.  “When Governor Nixon sarcastically asked a group of people whether they wanted a Navy SEAL to ‘be out there fighting for us,’ I can’t imagine how he believes the answer is anything but ‘absolutely.’  And in light of Chris Koster’s similar commentary, he should give an answer as to whether he shares Nixon’s belief that the rigorous training veterans endure to protect our country doesn’t qualify them to protect our state.  Frankly, if Nixon and Koster are looking for a ‘career politician’ — they’re not going to find it with Eric Greitens.”
