JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The man known for his iconic portrayal of the Terminator is now looking to “terminate gerrymandering.”
In a series of tweets posted on Thursday, former California Governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a video and link to a Crowdpac.com fundraiser, with the goal of fighting for redistricting campaigns in four states:
- Michigan – Voters Not Politicians
- Missouri – Clean Missouri
- Colorado – Fair Maps Colorado
- Utah – Better Boundaries
In a letter published on the Crowdpac webpage, the actor says he is on a crusade to raise money for four different state initiatives “to take the power from the politicians and give it back to the people.”
“I’m going to fly one lucky supporter to Budapest to hang out with me on the set of Terminator so you can literally terminate gerrymandering with me, as the Terminator.
Chip into our campaign now,” he writes. “Do it because you want to protect our democracy and terminate the 200-year-old scam state-by-state. Do it to let the politicians know who is in charge. Or just do it to come have a fantastic time with me.”
I need your help. We’re going to terminate gerrymandering together by fighting for campaigns in four states. And I’m going to fly one lucky donor to Budapest to spend the day with me on the Terminator set. Donate here: https://t.co/3awyxwmmWp pic.twitter.com/nqcFWOHBhCk

I want to highlight the great campaigns you’ll be supporting. First, @NotPoliticians in Michigan. I love this effort because it started when Katie Fahey decided not to just complain in front of the TV about our broken politics, but to get out there and do something about it.

Second, @FairMapsColo, which has the support of all four living Colorado governors. Bipartisan support, across the political spectrum.

Third, @CleanMissouri, which is a big-thinking initiative to make politics more transparent and responsive to the people, including fighting gerrymandering.

Finally #betterboundaries in Utah. Two of their four campaign co-chairs are Republicans, so it’s another fantastic bipartisan effort. https://t.co/Dli9WhYYt2
