TWMP: Parson vs. Randles for lieutenant governor

On a special episode of This Week in Missouri Politics, host Scott Faughn speaks with both of the Republican candidates for lieutenant governor. State Sen. Mike Parson, R-Bolivar, and former Missouri Club for Growth president Bev Randles speak about why they want to become the lieutenant governor, what sets them apart, what the most important function of the office is, and what would happen if they had to assume the position of governor.

Later on in the program, Faughn speaks with independent political and communications consultant Mark Siettmann, returning guest and conservative political operative David Barklage, Rep. Paul Curtman, R-Union, and state Senate candidate Rep. Andrew Koenig, R-Manchester, on the opinion-maker panel. They speak about the lieutenant governor’s primary and the differences between the two candidates, the worth of experience in government, and their economic philosophies. Discussion gets a bit contentious as panelists talk about their own records before they move on the the governor’s race.

TWMP will air at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Louis area on ABC 30 KDNL and in mid-Missouri on KRCG at 6:00 a.m. The show is available online after noon at twmp.tv.
