Butler: Governor is too distracted to lead

From Rep. Michael Butler, House Minority Caucus Chair:

I’d like to first of all state how much respect I have for Reps. Conway and Haefner for courageously stepping forward and calling for the governor to resign.

It has become clear to me that the Governor does not have the political support or the moral authority to continue to lead this state. This scandal is far too big of a distraction for him to effectively lead in this challenging time.
I found it particularly noteworthy that after signing SB43 last year, he made many comments that the bill was not about race, but it has not gone unnoticed that this year’s first state holiday honoring civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., the governor made no public statements, made any public appearances, or, as he is very prone to do, made any comments on his very active social media platform. Either the governor was not forthright about the issue or he is, in fact, too distracted to lead the state.

Either way, I call on Gov. Greitens to step aside so that we can focus on the important work of the people.
