Schedule announced for Parson’s swearing in ceremony

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Preparations are well underway for the swearing in of Missouri’s next governor.

Following the stepping down of Gov. Eric Greitens, Republican Lt. Gov. Mike Parson will fill the vacancy, being sworn in on the evening of Friday, June 1.

Parson will first attend a private prayer service at First Baptist Church in Jefferson City, starting at 4 p.m., before making his way to the Governor’s Office for the swearing-in ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Judge Mary Rhodes Russell of the Missouri Supreme Court will preside over the ceremony.
