Press Release: computers, clothes, school supplies exempt from sales tax Aug. 5-7

Missouri’s annual back-to-school sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, and runs through midnight on Sunday, Aug. 7. During this time, certain back-to-school purchases such as school supplies, computers, clothing and other qualifying items as defined by statute are exempt from state sales tax.

Press Release: Missouri’s Women Senators Invite Educators and the Public to Discuss Childhood Literacy

At 1:30 p.m., Aug. 5, the senators will host a childhood literacy discussion at the Emerson Performance Arts Center on the campus of Harris-Stowe State University, 3026 Laclede Ave., in St. Louis. That event will be followed by another, at 4 p.m., at the Jennings High School Auditorium, 8850 Cozens Ave., in Jennings.

Press Release: Conviction Secured in Shooting of Carter County Deputy, Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper

On Friday, the Missouri Attorney General’s Office announced that the Carter County Prosecuting Attorney and the Attorney General’s Office obtained a conviction in the 2019 shooting of Carter County Deputy Brigg Pierson and Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Caleb McCoy.
