AFL-CIO begins mail campaign to support Koster

ST. LOUIS – The AFL-CIO will be getting involved in the Missouri Governor’s race in a big way until the Nov. 8 elections.

The labor organization will send weekly mailers to union households advocating their support for Attorney General Chris Koster and their opposition to Eric Greitens.

Missouri AFL-CIO President Mike Louis said that Greitens works with “the type of CEO’s that don’t have interest in giving workers their fair share of the profits.”

“Greitens has chosen the side of greedy, out-of-touch CEO’s willing to make their profits off the backs of hard-working people,” he said in a statement. “Chris Koster has made it clear that he is on the side of working people and has plans to build a better future for all Missourians.”

Greitens has promised to institute right-to-work legislation while Koster has supported unions even before he switched to the Democratic Party. Organized labor has thrown a lot of weight behind Koster with millions of dollars, something Greitens criticized at their first debate Friday.

One of the mailers focuses on Greitens’ gun-laden TV spots. It reads “Eric Greitens talks tough in his ads, saying he’ll ‘take aim’ and ‘bring out the big guns.’ The problem is Greitens wants to attack Missouri families.”

The two mailers can be seen below.
