OA asking for rule review input from applicants in state’s Merit System

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri’s state agencies are all moving forward with their review of their rules and regulations, as ordered by Governor Eric Greitens in Executive Order 17-03, and the Office of Administration is not immune to the process.
This week, OA sent out a letter to applicants using the State of Missouri Merit System, asking them for their input and feedback on how to improve the system and make the agencies more effective. The state’s Merit System is a personnel system established by state law with the purpose of protecting employees from arbitrary actions, favoritism, and political coercion, and to ensure fairness in the system.
“As part of the process, members of the public are encouraged to make suggestions on how the Office of Administration can improve our administrative rules. Because you have regular involvement with these rules and may have interest in them, we wanted to be sure you had information about how to submit a public comment,” the message read, going onto promoting the nomoredtape.com site.
Comments are being accepted via multiple methods: on the Office of Administration’s website; by submitting written comments to OA Rules Review, PO Box 809, Jefferson City, MO 65102; by fax to 573-526-4811; or at one of the three public hearings. Public comments will be accepted through September 15.
